Urban Coach House with Light Straw Clay insulation

The coach house was originally designed as a place for the family of 4 to live in while renovations were being completed in their main house. Once their house was complete, the coach house would become a rental. The option to convert the space from one to two rental units provided the owner flexibility to adjust with market demands or accommodate family visits without losing income.

We explored the option of using Light Straw Clay (LSC) insulation and you can learn more about that process here. The project requirements changed once the family decided to require a single story for their ageing parents. The building is currently under construction in a completely different configuration; images to come.
